Corona del Sol’s Sunset Yearbook named 2017 Crown Finalist
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) has just announced that Corona del Sol High School’s yearbook has been named a 2017 Crown Finalist.
CSPA is an international student press association that is owned and operated by Columbia University and the Crown Awards are the highest recognition given to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence. Crown Finalists are winners, not nominees.
CSPA members judge student publications on their excellence as shown by their design, photography, concept, coverage and writing. Corona’s Sunset Yearbook, under the direction of teacher Kris Urban, is one of just 54 high schools nationwide to receive this recognition for yearbooks published during the 2015-2016 school year.
This is the sixth time Sunset has been named a Crown Finalist. It is also a seven-time Pacemaker Award Finalist. The national award is given for excellence in student journalism by the National Scholastic Press Association.
