    Arts Seal of Proficiency Introduction:

The Arizona Seal of Arts Proficiency was signed into law by Governor Doug Ducey on May 14th, 2019. The goal of the Arizona State Seal of Arts Proficiency are:

    • To celebrate students who demonstrate high levels of proficiency in the Arizona Arts Education Standards through personal expression and creative experiences in the arts education programs
    • To identify pathways of artistic literacy that cultivate skills for 21st-century success
    • To prepare students for college and career readiness, including active participation in the creative industries sector
    • To promote increased access to well-rounded, high-quality arts education across the state

To earn the Arts Seal of Proficiency for their diploma students must complete a rigorous, standards-based, and high-quality arts education course of studies such as Music, Dance, Media Arts, Theatre and Visual Arts. They must also participate in arts extracurricular activities and complete a Senior Arts Capstone Project. Students will work with an Arts Advisor (Teacher) in their discipline of arts study. Tempe Union High School District students who are interested in applying to earn the Arizona Arts Seal of Proficiency are encouraged to apply online and download and review the TUHSD Arts Seal of Proficiency Student Handbook.
