Desert Vista and Mountain Pointe Participate in 2021 Arizona Safety in Sports Campaign

Throughout the month of September, Desert Vista High School and Mountain Pointe High School actively participated in the 2021 Arizona Safety in Sports campaign organized by the Arizona Athletic Trainers' Association. The goal of this campaign is to highlight the importance of safety in sports in a secondary school setting. The campaign also focuses on highlighting the importance of having an Athletic Trainer on staff to care for our student-athletes.

The educational campaign lasted four weeks, with each week focusing on a different theme; promoting the role of Athletic Trainers, Ask your Athletic Trainer a Question, promoting college and high school student aides, and education on how to have a career as an Athletic Trainer.

As part of the campaign, small helmet stickers with the Athletic Trainer logo in an outline of the state of Arizona have been placed on the back of our Varsity Football helmets. These stickers stand as a conversation starter, and show the support and need for safety in sports that makes the job Athletic Trainers do essential.
