Welcome to Mountain Pointe Academics!
At Mountain Pointe, we continually examine our curriculum, take the pulse of student progress through the use of formative assessments, and strive to collaborate with one another to improve instruction to meet the differentiated needs of our students. Through this process, we hold our students to high standards with the goal of improving student achievement.
Students can experience Rigor by taking one of 55 honors courses, including 15 AP courses. Credit is given in 44 Dual Enrollment courses so students can earn college credit while still in high school.
Since opening its doors in 1991, Mountain Pointe has dedicated itself to being a world-class school by providing a supportive learning environment that challenges all members of our community to realize their highest potential. Everyone on our campus is driven by the three guiding principles: “Inspiring purpose, pride, and performance in EVERY student.”
Some of our Academic Achievements include:
- National Honor Societies in Academics and Arts
- Rated “Excelling” by Advanced Ed, since 2005
- 84 National Merit Finalists and 9 Flinn Scholars since 1994
- Marquee Math Champions 2014, 2012 & 2009
- Academic Decathlon — Top 5 finishes: 2012, 2011, 2008, 2007 & 2006
In support of student achievement, we have included Academic Lab twice a week. The purpose of Academic Lab is to provide students opportunities for academic assistance within the school day. Twice a week for a 40 minute period, all staff will focus their efforts and attention in support of student achievement.
