    The purpose of the Graphics and Multimedia strand is to expose students to and develop 21st century skills in graphics and multimedia technology. exploration of computer graphics, multimedia, photography, printing, advertising, graphic design, presentation graphics, and computer animation, all challenge students to solve both visual and technical problems on a regular basis. Student will explore careers in the graphics industry and build skills to enter related fields directly from high school or continue on to degree programs.


    Graphic Design Emphasis

    This course of study is designed for the student who wants to explore 2D design using a variety of software applications

    • Freshman
      • Introduction to Computer Graphic Art (FA20, CTE)
    • Sophomore
      • 2D Graphic Art 1-2 (FA08, CTE)
    • Junior
      • 2D Graphic Art 3-4 (FA09, CTE) and/or
      • Photography 1-2 (FA23, CTE)
    • Senior
      • 2D Graphic Art 5-6 (FA30, CTE) or Academy Digital Art (FA37) and/or
      • Photography 1-2 (FA23, CTE)

    Photography Emphasis

    This course of study is designed for the student who wants to explore traditional and digital photography with a fine and commercial arts focus.

    *Additional requirements to earn AVPA Diploma:
    • Students must participate in all academy art exhibitions all four years
    • Student must develop an electronic portfolio representative of all four years
    • Student must develop a physical portfolio representative of all four years
    • Student must conduct an individual senior show either on campus or out in the community
