Stacy White, Principal

  • Welcome! It is an honor and a privilege to lead Desert Vista High School as Principal. I have been working with students and families in the Tempe Union High School District for over 25 years, 15 of those years being at Desert Vista. Through these years, I have served in the District as a teacher, Special Education Coordinator, Activities Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Academic Assistant Principal, and Director of Instructional Services.

I was raised in Lexington, Nebraska, and attended the University of Nebraska where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a minor in Physical Education and later a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After teaching in the Lincoln Public School District, I moved to Arizona and began teaching at Desert Vista. While teaching at Desert Vista, I attended Arizona State University and completed a second Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision. I have a daughter, Madelynn, who is a graduate of the Tempe Union H.S. District and the University of Arizona.

I believe in creating a supremely healthy overall high school environment so that students have an engaging, rigorous, and rewarding experience at DV. This includes academic excellence, a high degree of student participation in extracurriculars, and responsible social development. To do this, we must foster healthy relationships between students, staff, and families in order to maximize the school experience. I am blessed that I get to play a vital role in the development of our future leaders and look forward to my continued work with the Desert Vista Community.

I am grateful that I get to serve the families and community in which I live. Desert Vista High School has a strong tradition of inspiring a community of learning by demonstrating excellence in academics, athletics, and activities. I look forward to building on our tradition of “Excellence Through Performance”.

    Go Thunder!
