Assistant Principal of Athletics, David Klecka

  • David Klecka is a Phoenix native and TUHSD alumni of McClintock High School. He played under Karl Keifer for the Chargers winning a state title and later coached under Kiefer at Mountain Pointe while pursuing his education at Arizona State University. Upon graduation from ASU, Klecka taught Special Education for a few years before leaving education for a career in sales. Preston Jones of Perry High contacted him in 2018 to become an assistant and he was immediately drawn back into the love of teaching and coaching.

Klecka made the move to Desert Vista in 2019 with the opportunity to serve the DV community as Dean of Students and Head Freshman Football and Head Boys Track Coach. Klecka brings a long history of experience within the TUHSD community and a love for competition and mentorship.

"I want the Desert Vista community to know that we will pursue victory with honor in all sports at all levels. As a young coach my first athletic director was Dr. Joe McDonald. Now I represent the athletic program at a school that has a building named after him."
