At Desert Vista, we feel that athletics can play an important role in the overall education of students. Through participation in interscholastic athletics, we hope our student-athletes learn the importance of physical fitness, time management, character, and teamwork while building values such as accountability, leadership, discipline, perseverance, and commitment… things that will benefit them long after their high school athletic days are complete.
Desert Vista has one of the strongest athletic programs in the state garnering 46 State and 63 state runner-up titles, numerous individual state titles, and three national championship titles in only 25 years. Although our coaches strive to win, emphasis is placed on improvement, effort, sportsmanship, and respect. We hope our athletes learn to win graciously and lose with dignity.
Desert Vista offers 24 sports throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons, open to varying skill levels. No matter what level of participation, we want all of our student-athletes to have a rewarding and memorable DV athletic experience. Desert Vista teams compete at the 6A Central Conference Level and currently have teams in girls badminton, cross country (boys and girls), football, golf (boys and girls), swim & dive (boys and girls); indoor volleyball (boys and girls), sand volleyball (girls), basketball (boys and girls), soccer (boys and girls), wrestling (boys and girls), cheer, baseball, softball, tennis (boys and girls), and track & field (boys and girls).
