Social & Emotional Wellness

Tempe Union High School District’s Governing Board unanimously adopted a social-emotional wellness resolution at their meeting on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Please read the full text of the resolution here - PDF.
Today, young adults face a multitude of challenges not experienced by many previous generations. In addition to academic success, high school students are faced with issues that can affect their social and emotional wellness.
At the Tempe Union High School District, we believe our students are not only capable of facing these challenges but that by working together with peers, educators, families, and others, they can use these challenges to make them stronger, kinder, and more prepared for success in life.
Students: If you or someone you know is struggling, take a look at the information on this site. We encourage you to become informed and learn how to help yourself and others. Most importantly, don't be afraid to ask for help.
Parents: If you are concerned about the social or emotional health of your child, we hope the information on this site will help you navigate a discussion with them. The information contained on this site is not a comprehensive list of resources, but we hope these documents and links will provide support or guidance in these areas. When seeking assistance from outside counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, etc., we encourage families to see what local options are supported by your health care coverage.
