My name is Lenica Ruiz, and I am proud to serve as the Assistant Principal of Athletics at Marcos de Niza High School. With over 15 years of experience in teaching, coaching, and educational leadership, I bring a deep passion for education-based athletics to our community.

Sports have played a pivotal role in my life, shaping me into the person I am today. Competing at the collegiate level has given me firsthand experience of the dedication, discipline, and teamwork required for success. These experiences have instilled in me a deep appreciation for working as a team to achieve our goals, a value I strive to impart to our students every day.

Marcos de Niza High School boasts a rich 53-year history of excellence in athletics. Our school is dedicated to fostering a culture where Padres lead with pride and respect, both on and off the field. We believe in the transformative power of sports, not only for physical health but also for building character, teamwork, and resilience.

In my role, I am dedicated to supporting our student-athletes by ensuring they have access to top-notch facilities, experienced coaches, and a nurturing environment. Our athletic programs are designed to challenge students, helping them grow, learn, and excel in their chosen sports.

Our coaches play a crucial role in leading our athletic programs, working tirelessly year-round to ensure our students receive the best training and guidance. Their dedication and expertise are instrumental in helping our student-athletes reach their full potential. Alongside our coaches, our administrative assistant, certified strength and conditioning coach, head athletic trainer, and equipment manager work diligently to keep our student-athletes prepared and ready for competition. Their efforts behind the scenes are invaluable to the success of our programs.
