Jobs for Arizona's Graduates

  • Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a more than 35 year history of serving youth across Arizona. JAG’s mission is to help young people stay in school and to acquire the academic, personal, leadership and vocational skills they will need to be successful upon graduation. 

    Today, JAG serves more than 1200 young people in 25 programs in Arizona schools and communities in Tolleson/Avondale and Central Phoenix.

    All JAG programs are based on the evidenced-based national model developed by Jobs for America’s Graduates. JAG Arizona is consistently exceeding the JAG National Standards, and continues to be recognized for outstanding performance in the network.

  • The Career Association

    The Career Association is the student-led organization that puts you and your teammates in the driver seat of your education! As a team, you will work to plan leadership, career exploration, service learning and social events. Through these events you will:

    • Explore careers that you are interested in
    • Build and demonstrate your leadership and team skills
    • Find out what you care about—and give back to your community

     

    Program of Work - YOU DECIDE!

    Together, as a team, you will choose the activities to participate in throughout the year. These activities make up the Career Association Program of Work.

    Career Exploration activities expose CA members to different career options: Guest speakers from business, Tours, job shadows and internships, College campus speakers & tours.

    Civic & Service Learning events provide CA members opportunities to give back to their communities in meaningful ways, like Voter Registration Drives and food, clothing and toy drives.

    Leadership Development events allow CA members to build and demonstrate team and leadership skills: Interaction with community leaders (Town Hall or School Board meeting; classroom visits from state and local elected leaders) and attending and preparing for the JAG Leadership Academy events.

    Social Awareness event build the JAG family, and allow members to form supportive and caring relationships.

Leadership Opportunities

  • Student Officers are responsible for coordinating the work of their peers as they develop and implement the Program of Work activities. Students may run for, and be elected to the following offices:

    • President
    • Vice President
    • Secretary
    • Treasurer
    • Historian
    • Committee Chair
