Assistant Principal of Activities
Hello, my name is Lauren Miller, and I am thrilled to be your Assistant Principal of Activities here at Marcos de Niza High School. We are ready to get back in action for the 2021-2022 school year and provide our students with all the robust extracurricular opportunities that make attending MdN an exciting and engaging experience.
This will be my fourth year working as an administrator, having previously served as Dean of Students at a 7–12th grade secondary school, and my 11th year working in education. I have been a Fine Arts Department Chair, Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator, instructional coach, and have taught all levels of high school art, including Advanced Placement Studio Art, as well as 11th and 12th grade English. Prior to my career in education, I was a makeup artist and worked for many years as a retail manager for MAC Cosmetics. I am also a very active visual artist myself; the arts are the heart and soul of much of who I am and what I do.
I am also the very proud mother of three awesome kids. Lola, my oldest daughter, will be starting at ASU this August as a Conservation Ecology major; Scarlet, my middle daughter, will be a freshman here at Marcos this year, and my son Jude will be starting 7th grade. All of my children have always been active in the arts and athletics, and celebrating and supporting extracurriculars is a huge part of what we do as a family.
I look forward to meeting and working with each of you — please feel free to stop by the Activities office and say hello!
