Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • Start the FAFSA. Plan for your future.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used by the government and many schools to help determine students' eligibility for financial assistance, such as federal student loans, scholarships, and grants. “Completing the FAFSA is a critical step in the college financing process” (Education Forward Arizona).

The FAFSA is available each year for seniors on October 1. You will use your 2021 tax information to complete the FAFSA to be considered for financial assistance in 2023. The sooner your FAFSA is done, the sooner you can get the full picture of financial aid from colleges, and plan for your future.

It is known that one of the most effective ways to boost educational attainment is to ensure that more students have the financial resources needed to pursue a post-secondary education or credential. One of the greatest tools to reduce the financial barriers to accessing post-secondary education is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
