Thunder Testing Incentive Program

  • The Desert Vista staff values the hard work and dedication our students have in excelling academically and would like to reward those who perform at an exceptional level on state assessments. The Arizona Department of Education gives a letter grade to schools based on the increase in performance level of all students each school year on the following assessments: ACT, AzScience, and ACT ASPIRE. School Report Cards are an integral part of maintaining a solid reputation of an A rating, thus bringing many benefits to our students and community. This year, we have decided to reimplement the ‘Thunder Incentive Reward Program”, which is ONLY intended for students who are enrolled at Desert Vista High School.  

    This incentive reward will be valid during the school year following the student’s qualification and is solely the student’s responsibility to claim their reward within the provided timeframe. Staff at Desert Vista will not be able to look up and or print any of these test scores. See below regarding how to get your scores.

    When will students know if they qualify?

    Individual scores are mailed (or emailed) directly to the student for ACT, ACT ASPIRE, and AzScience. But, HORIZON scores can be accessed through SchoolCity (which can be found in the student portal; students use the same username and password as they do to log onto the computers at school). 

    How do students redeem their rewards?

    Students will complete the Google Form with their information. When they receive their confirmation email, they will print it out and bring the printed copy, along with their Student ID, to the library. Rewards can be redeemed before or after school, or at lunch only.

    Is there a deadline to redeem the reward?

    Students can redeem their reward beginning August 5, 2024, through September 27, 2024, in person in the Desert Vista Library at designated times during Desert Vista’s operating hours. Forms will be available the first week of the 24-25 school year.
