The primary objective of the District Operations Department is to ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment while safeguarding the community's investment in education.

The District Operations Department assumes responsibility for all maintenance, custodial, and grounds duties within the district. Professional bodies, along with the School Facilities Board, have acclaimed the Tempe Union High School District as the state's premier high school district in terms of maintenance. Our District Operations Department has garnered recognition for its exceptional cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the department oversees all Capital and Bond projects across the district.

Our district envisions harnessing the full spectrum of state, federal, and local funding opportunities, including grants, bonds, and overrides. Our capital plan commits to submitting all projects for qualifying grant applications. Our vision is to ensure the meticulous maintenance and implementation of cost-saving strategies for the enhancement of district buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure.
