Retirement Benefits

If eligible, regular employees working 20 hours or more per week must participate in the Arizona State Retirement System. The retirement benefit an employee receives depends on the number of years and months for which the employee receives retirement credit. Employees receive credit by making mandatory contributions to the plan. Eligible employees may also set aside additional earnings (non-matched) for retirement through a 403(b), 403(b) Roth, 457(b), and/or a 457(b) Roth plan. Contribution maximums are limited by the IRS.
