  • VIDEO: Meet Mrs. Arroyo

    Mrs. Arroyo has been principal of McClintock High School since July 2016. She spent seven years as principal at J. Sterling Morton High School’s Freshman Center in the Chicago suburb of Cicero. Prior to that she served five years as Assistant Principal and four years as Dean of Students.
     
    Arroyo, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning her bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a minor in Bilingual and Cross Cultural Education, and her master’s in Educational Administration. Arroyo began her career as a Math teacher in Chicago Public Schools before working in the Math Department at University of Illinois at Chicago where she trained Chicago Public Schools teachers on teaching mathematics using a standards-based curriculum. She also worked at Kennedy King College tutoring immigrant adults who were studying American history and law in preparation for legal residency.
