Staff Training
Mountain Pointe Staff Training
As part of the Circle of Nations Pathway Program, all faculty and staff at Mountain Pointe High School are currently engaged in professional learning provided by Sunbird Enterprises, led by Ginger Sunbird Martin. This training is designed to strengthen relationships between schools, Indigenous students, and their families by deepening understanding, communication, and trust.
Sunbird Enterprises brings a community-centered approach that helps educators better understand Indigenous histories, values, and family systems, while also building practical skills for engaging respectfully and effectively with Native students and families. The training emphasizes listening, relationship-building, and honoring the strengths students bring from their homes and communities.
By investing in this learning for all staff, Mountain Pointe High School is taking intentional steps to create a school environment where Indigenous students and families feel welcomed, understood, and supported. This shared commitment ensures that students are not only supported academically, but also through strong, respectful partnerships between home, school, and community.
This work reflects our belief that when educators are equipped with deeper understanding and stronger connections, students benefit through improved communication, stronger relationships, and a school culture that truly supports their success.
