Dual Enrollment Program

  • Dual enrollment students must be currently enrolled at one of the high schools in the Tempe Union High School District AND also enroll with Rio Salado College to earn college credits. Being enrolled in a high school course offered for dual enrollment does NOT automatically register a student to earn college credit through Rio Salado.

To earn college credits through Dual Enrollment:

    1. Students must be enroll and be admitted to Rio Salado College by visiting: https://www.riosalado.edu/start-rio/early-college/dual-enrollment
*New this year: There is no longer a "save progress" button, which means that students/families are encouraged to fully complete this application in one-sitting and have 45 minutes to do so.
    2. Students must submit a current school photo ID AND one of the following:
        • a copy of their birth certificate
        • a copy of their passport
        • a copy of their Arizona driver's licence or Arizona state issued ID
    3. Students must complete the All-In-One Enrollment Requirements Form by visiting: https://www.riosalado.edu/start-rio/early-college/dual-enrollment/step-1-get-admitted-complete-enrollment-tasks
    4. Freshmen and Sophomores must complete placement testing. Juniors and Seniors must upload their high school transcript showing a 2.6 or higher GPA
*Students can access their transcript with their GPA in StudentVue under Documents
    5. Students must register for their courses either online through the Maricopa student page, in person with a Rio Salado representative, or over the phone by calling (480) 517-8080
*The login information for this application is the student's full MEID@maricopa.edu and the password they created for their student account.
    6. Payment must either be paid in full or students can set up a monthly payment plan. Students can also apply for Tuition Assistance based on specific criteria on a first come, first served basis.
*Students must be enrolled with Rio Salado College before they can apply for Tuition Assistance.
