  • Late Tempe High Teacher Honored as Dia de los Muertos Tradition Continues

    October 16, 2020- The Tempe High Buffaloes have a unique school tradition that resides in the library around this time every year. The beautiful display is known as an altar de ofrendas, or an altar of offerings, which is a rich tradition in Hispanic culture and is utilized to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. This year’s altar de ofrendas carries an extra, bittersweet weight as the center of the altar is the late Sam Robinson, a forever THS teacher, Track coach and MEChA Club sponsor.

  • Compadre takes home Platinum Award and the Jackie Robinson Division Award at virtual Vitalant Blood Drive Training and Awards Ceremony

    September 30, 2020- Congratulations to Compadre Academy for receiving a Platinum Award for the 4th year in a row and for the first time received the Jackie Robinson Division Award! Seven Compadre Student Council members and Ms. Susan Manning attended the virtual Vitalant Blood Drive Training and Awards Ceremony on September 21st, 2020.

  • Mountain Pointe Teachers Both Honored as Teacher of the Year

    September 28, 2020- Congratulations are in order for Natasha Alston, Pride psychology and American history teacher and Mary Powell, Pride English teacher. Alston has been awarded Teacher of the Year award by the Arizona Council for the Social Studies. Powell has been awarded English teacher of the year by the Arizona English Teacher Association.
