This course utilizes a cooperative education methodology to combine school based
and supervised work-based learning experiences. It is designed to prepare students
for employment in various sales, customer service, advertising and promotion, and first
line supervisory positions in wholesale, retail and service areas. Students will prepare
to perform marketing and management functions and tasks as they relate to selling and
retailing, e-commerce, sports and entertainment, and hospitality and tourism induStries.
Students will experience application of the following Arizona Economics
Standards: implications of scarcity, analysis of current events, interdependence of
households and firms, comparison of different economic systems, principles of microeconomics
and macroeconomics, the economic role of government, affects of international
trade, and financial choices. Students will also experience application of the
following Arizona Academic Math Standards: number sense, data analysis and probability,
patterns and algebra, discrete math, and logic. (This course meets state economic
