This course is designed to develop higher level thinking skills through comprehensive study of the United States Constitution and of the United States Supreme Court’s decisions explaining the principles of the U.S. government. Emphasis is placed on advanced skills in reading, writing, analysis, synthesis and application. The scope of this course is intended to focus on an in-depth study of the U.S. Constitution. It will provide an understanding of the Constitution and an appreciation of the important role that Constitutional interpretation plays in the conduct of our court system in evaluating the constitutionality of actions taken on both the federal and state level.
