Smiles of Christmas means fun for students young and old
McClintock High School was party headquarters for the annual Smiles of Christmas celebration. Held on November 29, 2016, the event drew nearly 200 students from across Tempe Union High School District and another 200 from Threw Elementary school.
Students young and old played together doing As You Wish crafts, outdoor games and activities, having food, hanging out with Santa Claus and having a whole bunch of fun.
Founded in 2002, Smiles of Christmas organizers say they have grown to be the largest student-led mentor charity event in the southwest. The charity’s mission is to positively impact the younger generation by providing underprivileged elementary students with the opportunity to experience an ideal Christmas celebration in unison with the community of involved high school students.
