TUHSD, City of Tempe launch Career Ready Tempe

This summer, Tempe Union High School District is partnering with City of Tempe and Tempe Chamber of Commerce to launch Career Ready Tempe, an 8-week paid summer internship program for Tempe Union High School District juniors and seniors.

Two-thirds of jobs will require higher education by 2020. By the time today’s preschoolers complete high school, seven of every 10 jobs will require some type of higher education.

Career Ready Tempe aims to help prepare and develop Tempe youth to participate in the future workforce by connecting them to college and career readiness support. Career Ready Tempe partners students with Tempe employers for an 8-week paid summer internship opportunity in fields such as Accounting, Business Management, Digital Communications, Marketing and Graphic Design.

The internship will offer opportunities to build skills that will prepare students for success in their academic and career endeavors, support from a mentor who will assist students in preparing for their internship and the college enrollment process, and exclusive time to network with professionals and leaders within the Tempe business community.

Internships are available to incoming juniors or seniors. Space is limited. Students will complete an application and interview process to be selected for participation.
