CTE students explore careers at Talking Stick Resort Arena
Over 200 Tempe Union High School District Career and Technical Education students had the opportunity to hear from professionals responsible for the behind-the-scenes operations of Talking Stick Resort Arena.
Roughly 230 students spent the afternoon exploring the entertainment and sports arena in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Students in attendance are enrolled in a variety of CTE programs, including Sports Medicine, Business Management Sports Entertainment & Hospitality, Software Development, Digital Communications and Accounting.
In small break out sessions, students learned from experts in various industries within the arena, including hospitality, business, ticket sales and sports management.
Students also toured the Steward Healthcare clinic.
Several students were chosen to participate in some fan experiences prior to the game, including a High Five Tunnel, the Stars and Stripes Squad and a Ball Exchange.
Talking Stick Resort Arena is most notably home to Arizona’s NBA team, The Phoenix Suns. The arena also supports WNBA team The Mercury, indoor football team The Rattlers and musical artists.
