Corona del Sol was chosen as a 2018 Diamondbacks School Challenge Winner, earning a $5,000 grant to support a school site project.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, in collaboration with the University of Phoenix, pledged to distribute $100,000 in education funding to elementary, middle and high schools across the state. Corona was one of 21 schools selected from over 500 applications.

Corona's Lauri Pagano submitted the application on behalf of the school, and will use the $5,000 to help fund a Mindfulness room on Corona.

Pagano, Corona del Sol's on-campus social worker, was honored at Chase Field alongside school principal Nathan Kleve and High School Health and Wellness Coach Cinthia Martinez.
