Engineering students face off in The Great Boat Race 2019

Engineering students from McClintock, Tempe, Desert Vista, Mountain Pointe, Corona del Sol and Marcos de Niza high schools went head-to-head in an epic boat racing competition.

The annual competition, know as the Great Boat Race, challenged students to build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape. A passenger was tasked to paddle the boat across the Tempe Kiwanis Wave Pool.

Between the six schools, 48 boats hit the water. Not all, however, could withstand the journey.
