Tempe Coalition recognizes students, staff in annual Celebrating Champions For Youth

Tempe Coalition announced the winners of the 2019 Celebrating Champions For Youth Awards, which recognized Tempe Union High School District students and staff.

There are our winners:

Adult Protector Award - Daniel Bennett, SRO @ Tempe High School

This award is given to a First Responder who works in Tempe, with extensive service advocating tirelessly to provide a safe environment where Tempe Youth can achieve their full potential. 

Adult Inspiration Award - Jose Hernandez, Food Services Manager @ McClintock High School

This award is given to a teacher, community worker, counselor or coach who has inspired Tempe youth to live to their full potential. 

Youth Conqueror Award - Synthia Ramos, Sophomore @ Tempe High School

This award is given to an outstanding youth who has overcome adversity and challenges to turn their trajectory of life toward setting and achieving goals to reach their full potential and inspires their peers to do the same.

Youth Champion Award - Keshawn Thompson, Senior @ Tempe High School

This award recognizes youth who has continually set and achieved goals in an effort to reach their full potential and inspire their peers to do the same.

All award winners will be honored at the 3rd annual Celebrating Champions of Youth Awards ceremony at Compadre Academy on November 13th starting at 5:30pm.

Selected Champions will receive a congratulatory letter, a certificate of recognition, will be highlighted at the event. Additionally, both students will receive a $200.00 scholarship.
