The Department of Economic Services (DES) to soon distribute Pandemic Electronic Benefit Food Stamp Cards (P-EBT Cards) to all families with students eligible for Free and Reduced-Price Meal Benefits:
Per the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, DES will soon be issuing Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer food stamp cards (P-EBT), to every family with students eligible for free/reduced meals in schools.
If your child has not been enrolled in the free or reduced school meal program for this school year (2019-2020), and your financial circumstances have changed and your child(ren) would now be eligible, apply online at https://www. lunchapplication.com. For quick processing, be sure to enter your child(ren)s names and birthdates exactly as was given to the school office for the student database to include their 7-digit student identification number.
Enrolling prior to June 30th, 2020 is important because the DES will be collecting student free and reduced data from the district database. DES has not yet announced a distribution date of the P-EBT card.
Note: Families will still need to complete a new application for the 2020-2021 school year which will be available on July 1, 2020.
