TUHSD | All Six Comprehensive Tempe Union High Schools Earn Prestigious "A" Ratings

TEMPE, AZ — The Tempe Union High School District is proud to announce that all six of its comprehensive high schools—Tempe High, McClintock, Marcos de Niza, Corona del Sol, Mountain Pointe, and Desert Vista—have received an “A” rating based on state-wide performance measures. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of students, educators, and the entire school community.

The grading criteria for these distinguished ratings include the following key factors:
•Student Performance on ACT: Standardized test results that reflect the academic readiness and proficiency of students across core subjects.
•Growth in ACT Test Scores: How well students are improving in their performance on the ACT overtime, demonstrating their progress and mastery.
•Graduation and Dropout Rates: Metrics that assess the success rate of students completing their high school education and transitioning into the next phase of their academic or professional careers.
•College and Career Readiness: Criteria that measure how well students are prepared for post-secondary education or entering the workforce.
•Student Growth in English Proficiency: Special attention to students whose primary language is not English, and their advancement toward full English proficiency.

Superintendent Dr. Stacia Wilson expressed great pride in the district’s accomplishments:
"We’re absolutely thrilled to see the incredible effort of our students and staff shine through with these ‘A’ ratings! This is a huge win for our entire district and truly shows how well we’re preparing our students for bright, successful futures—whether they’re headed to college or launching their careers. We couldn’t be prouder of the progress our students continue to make, not just in their academics but in their readiness to take on the world after graduation."

The Tempe Union High School District remains committed to excellence in education, ensuring that all students have the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Parents and community members are encouraged to celebrate this achievement and continue supporting the district’s mission of fostering student success.
